The past is ash,
But the future remains,
Chasing our hurried footsteps.
And with nothing to gain,
We turn.
We stare.
We burn.
What kind of life is that?
I'd rather the wind run me,
A loose petal
Floating above the flames
Traveling with the breeze,
Bruised,
Yet still blooming.
